The Tisbury Business Association was created to promote all that Tisbury has to offer. Our aim is to ensure that every activity undertaken promotes and advances our village as a trading and commercial centre, to the benefit of all those in our local community.

Annual General Meeting

Our latest AGM took place on Monday 28th January 2019 at The Beckford Arms in Fontill Gifford. The meeting started promptly at 6.30pm and finished at 7.40pm.

The Minutes from the meeting have been distributed to all members.

Ashley Major agreed to carry on as Chairperson for the coming year.

A further meeting will be arranged in the summer to form a sub committee to oversee the Tis the Season 2019 event.

  • Tiz the Season 2019

    This years event will take place on Saturday 7th December 2019. Proceedings will commence at Midday and finish at 4pm, with the Christmas Lights switch on taking place at 3.30pm. We are expecting over 20 food and craft stalls and large crowds. There will be a visit by Father Christmas and children will enjoy visiting his grotto. There will also be a performance of carol singing.

    There will also be several events going on in the "New Vic" during the afternoon and evening. Between 1.30pm and 5pm An International Afternoon Tea will be available, with a selection of seasonal dainties from Italy, Norway, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.

    At 6pm you will be able to watch a stage play of a radio adaption of Dickens "A Christmas Carol", followed at 8pm by more carols from the Tisbury Community Choir & The St John's Swingers.

    Throughout the afternoon there will be live music - "crooning Christmas", with Garry Procter, Hummingbird, Dan Evans, Little Voice and the Silent Knight, plus an arts and craft exhibition and sale on the theme - Tisbury. Finally there will be a licensed bar offering Mulled wine and cider, egg nog...... All profits from the New Vic events will go to the Victoria Hall regeneration project.

    Please note that the High Street will be closed from approximately 11.30am until approximately 5pm, from Vicarage Road down to The Square.

    FRENCH MARKET - Saturday 24th March 2018 (9am - 5pm).

    By arrangement with Tisbury Parish Council and the TBA (& for the first time in Tisbury), France at Home, an experienced French travelling market will be bringing first class produce and their excellent service to Tisbury High St.

    The traders cross the Channel every week to hold their popular French Markets in England.

    Please note that the High Street will be closed for the day to traffic but diversions will be provided.

    TISBURY CARNIVAL - Saturday 21st September 2019

    Tisbury Carnival Committee are going all out this year to commemorate the 100th Tisbury Carnival Parade. The first was held in September 1919 and named the Tisbury Peace Parade to mark the end of the First World War. This year's Carnival will take place on Saturday 21st September, which is coincidently but aptly "International Peace Day".

    They are aiming to have a minimum of 100 entries in the parade and are asking everyone in the community to get involved.
