The Tisbury Business Association was created to promote all that Tisbury has to offer. Our aim is to ensure that every activity undertaken promotes and advances our village as a trading and commercial centre, to the benefit of all those in our local community.

Annual General Meeting

In view of the ongoing covid-19 restrictions and a reluctance to hold yet another Zoom meeting, it was decided to hold this year's AGM via E-Mail. Members were all sent an Agenda, Chairman's Report and a full Financial Report prior to the date of the meeting, which was fixed for 6.30pm on Monday 8th February 2021.

In his Chairman's Report, Ashley gave everyone notice that he was standing down after the AGM. In the absence of anyone being willing to step up to the role, it was agreed to leave the Chair post open for the time being.

Carol Saye was keen to step down as Treasurer, a role she has carried out for many years, if a replacement could be found. In the absence of a replacement she kindly agreed to carry on for a further 12 months, unless someone steps forward in the meantime.

Our Secretary Andy Jameson was happy to carry on.

With the Carnival Committee organising the Brocane and Carnival, we will just need a small team to come together early in the summer to help organise Tiz the Season 2021 (pandemic willing)!

  • Tiz the Season 2019

The weather was kind to us this year, and this helped with a good turnout of traders and shoppers. The day was made more complete by the cultural festivities in the Victoria Hall (or the New Vic @ Tisbury), which was a great success as complimented the main event.

Firstly, a massive thank you to Marcus Deyes of Big Bang Pizza for organising the event, and to our sponsors, The Austreng Partnership, Boatwrights and PF Parsons Builders.

A special thank you to the Tisbury Carnival Committee, especially their wonderful Road Closure Stewards, without whom the event would not happen. Also to Steve McGrath, for bringing Santa Claus along, together with his helpers, and also to his team who set out the Xmas lights in the High St, then take them down afterwards.

The Tisbury Dental Care Practice once again allowed us to use their carpark and all the traders in the High Street helped with the events success by putting up with the road closure.

Along the High Street the shops helped us run the Mystery Christmas Clue Hunt (thank you Rosie for running this), and by contributing presents for the grotto. The Fire Service carried out the important role of delivering Santa safely to his grotto.

Finally, thanks to everyone else that helped out and to everyone that came along and joined in the fun.

  • COVID-19

We very much regret that the French Market, due to have taken place at the end of March 2021, has been cancelled because of COVID-19. The next big event due to take place in the village is the Brocante, postponed from last year. It is scheduled to take place on Monday 3rd May 2021.
