Annual General Meeting

Our latest AGM took place on Monday 28th January 2019 at The Beckford Arms in Fontill Gifford. The meeting started promptly at 6.30pm and finished at 7.40pm. The Minutes from the meeting have been distributed to all members. Ashley Major agreed to carry on as Chairperson for the coming year. A further meeting will be arranged in the summer to form a sub committee to oversee the Tis the Season 2019 event.

Genius Coffee

Our latest new member is Geniuscoffee, who are responsible for the delicious aroma of roasting coffee that has been wafting around Tisbury since November, when their long awaited new business started. The new shop is the outcome of many years hard work and the realisation of a long held dream of Holger and Lale Mauch, from Munich. The coffee roastery is in the old chapel in Tuckingmill, whilst the shop has opened in the "Old Coal Shop" in Tisbury High Street. The shop is managed by Becs Gilbert and the coffees change weekly, offering the opportunity to explore different flavours. In addition they stock award winning cakes, sourdough toasties and other goodies, some of which are imported from Bavaria. The shop is open on Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 4pm, and 8.30am and 3.30pm on Saturdays.

Tiz the Season 2018

The weather on the 8th December could not have been much worse. The day before wind speeds of 40mph were being forecast. This meant that only 22 of the 33 stalls booked turned up, as their insurance only covered them for maximum wind speeds of 30mph. In the event rain was the main issue on the day. Despite this the people of Tisbury and beyond turned up and made the most of things. Just under 120 children got to see Santa in his Grotto. Many thanks to Santa (Steve McGrath), his Helper (Jacqui Windsor) & Rosie Barrett for the Decorations. Nick Anderson went above and beyond the call of duty, moving furniture for the craft tent (Guild Anderson also transported Santa's Sleigh). Rosie Barrett stepped in at the last moment to take over the music at the event. James Deadman from the Dental Practice kindly let us use their car park again. Seeds for Success did a great job in the Crafts Tent and our wonderful Fire Service put in their usual appearance. DP Marquees kindly provided a tent. Many organisations sponsored the event. Many thanks to The Austreng Partnership, PF Parsons Ltd, The Fishmongers & The Fonthill Estate. A special mention must also go to the wonderful Carnival Marshalls, who always do an excellent job in all kinds of awful weather. They are truly fantastic and none of our events could take place without them. Finally, a massive thank you to everyone of you that turned up to support the event. We promise to make it even better this year. In this respect we would very much appreciate your feedback, both positive and less so, as well as ideas for the future.
