Annual General Meeting

Thank you to everyone who attended the AGM on Monday 3rd February 2020, at The Beckford Arms in Fontill Gifford. Thanks also to Charlie for allowing us use of the "library" at the Beckford for the meeting.

In the absence of any volunteers, Ashley Major agreed to carry on as Chairperson for another year. Matt Boatwright agreed to help Ashley, to ease the burden.

Carol Saye is keen to step down as Treasurer, a role she has carried out for many years. Could all members please let Carol know of anyone interested in taking over.

Charlie Graham confirmed that the French Market will take place as usual in the High Street at the end of February. Full details to follow. In addition, the Carnival Association have agreed to organise the Brocante, to take place on VE Day, on the 8th May.

An EGM to include members and non members is likely to take place later in the year, to look at the future role of the TBA. Minutes of the AGM have been emailed to all members.

COVID-19

We very much regret that the French Market due to have taken place at the end of March, the Brocante due to have taken place on the VE Day Bank Holiday, the Carnival due to have taken place in September and finally Tiz the Season due to have taken place early in December, have all been cancelled this year because of COVID-19.

Tiz the Season 2019

The weather was kind to us this year, and this helped with a good turnout of traders and shoppers. The day was made more complete by the cultural festivities in the Victoria Hall (or the New Vic @ Tisbury), which was a great success as complimented the main event.

Firstly, a massive thank you to Marcus Deyes of Big Bang Pizza for organising the event, and to our sponsors, The Austreng Partnership, Boatwrights and PF Parsons Builders.

A special thank you to the Tisbury Carnival Committee, especially their wonderful Road Closure Stewards, without whom the event would not happen. Also to Steve McGrath, for bringing Santa Claus along, together with his helpers, and also to his team who set out the Xmas lights in the High St, then take them down afterwards.

The Tisbury Dental Care Practice once again allowed us to use their carpark and all the traders in the High Street helped with the events success by putting up with the road closure.

Along the High Street the shops helped us run the Mystery Christmas Clue Hunt (thank you Rosie for running this), and by contributing presents for the grotto. The Fire Service carried out the important role of delivering Santa safely to his grotto.

Finally, thanks to everyone else that helped out and to everyone that came along and joined in the fun.
